I can’t be the only one thinking about Thanksgiving outfit ideas? It’s a favorite holiday of mine and fall fashion is some of the very best. No matter what your Thanksgiving plans are, this is the perfect time to wear an outfit you are excited for. Between all the different colors, a cozy sweater option and knee-high boots, there are tons of looks to be put together. There’s really no dress code for a Thanksgiving dinner, but I’ll take any excuse to dress up for the holiday season. We don’t need a special occasion to wear an outfit we love in the fall season, but this is a great one! These are our top fashion pieces to finish off your perfect Thanksgiving day outfit.
Plans
Firstly, let’s begin with our plans. I’m hosting Thanksgiving this year, so I am going to be in a relaxed fit for cooking and then I’ll be dressed up for Thanksgiving attire. The perfect Thanksgiving outfits are ones you are comfortable in. So if you plan on sitting at home watching the parade and mostly spending the day with loved ones on the couch, I’d say ditch the wide leg jeans and go for a comfortable pair of pants with a nice sweater to get into the holiday spirit. Additionally, if you’ll be out at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in NYC, you will want to bundle up! Wear comfortable jeans and a warm coat for this time of year. Moreover, if you are going to be at a dinner party, we love midi skirts, tons of colors, faux leather leggings and sweater dresses in a deep hue.
Climates
Moreover, we all live in different climates. If you’re traveling for the holiday, be sure to check on the weather before packing! Stick with what you are going to be comfortable in. If you are going to be in a cooler climate, chunky knits will be your best friend. These can come in the form of sweaters or sweater dresses. If you need a casual Thanksgiving outfit idea, try a ribbed set. It’s nice and dressed up but comfy at the same time. This has been one of my favorite finds for looking more put together for Thanksgiving festivities. Meanwhile, those in warmer climates should stick to more lightweight materials. Go for skirts and flowy dresses in a ton of colors with a fun statement earring.
Family Dinner
Finally, if you are sitting down at a nicer dinner, this is where you go all out. Maybe ditch a wardrobe staple and try something fun. These fashion pieces all go for the best Friendsgiving outfit, too! Dressy Thanksgiving outfits are my favorite way to dress for the holiday. I find it’s best to wear a dress so there’s room for all of that pumpkin pie and pecan pie! And they’re usually comfortable enough to lounge in the living room after an amazing meal with the whole family. It’s always a great option to go more on the dressy side and it’s a fun thing to look forward to!
