As summer vacation continues, I’ve thought a lot about travel. We love to plan trips, especially when the kids are out of school so they don’t have to miss any classes! As I’ve looked at all of my luggage, I’ve come to realize that travel organization is something I haven’t talked about in awhile. There area lot of things that go into traveling- international travel, essential travel items, long flights, extra cost, important items, busy airports, not much space, etc.
This is a list of the best travel accessories I like to use for trips to help me stay organized and stress-free!
Suitcases
If we’re going on a long-haul flight, international trip or somewhere for more than just a couple of days, a suitcase is necessary! A few things that are important to me when it comes to suitcases are space, the use of space, durability and ease in wheeling. Pockets, sections and locks on the outside are also some great features to take into consideration. A lot of the newer ones have really cool features these days, such as a usb ports for a phone charger! These are a few of my favorite pieces of luggage!
Duffle Bags
This is a trickier category because duffle bags are what we end up carrying throughout the airport, train station, etc. So it’s essential not only to fit everything we need, but be easy to carry and comfortable. Pockets are important for these bags because it’s the main organization for the trip. You can totally fit packing cubes into most duffle bags, but the inner and outer pockets store a lot of things, especially necessities, such as a portable charger. Easy access to essentials is something I take into consideration. If you’re going on a road trip, these bags are best to save space, rather than huge suitcases! They are also easy to get into and grab something if you need it.

Toiletry Bags
Toiletry bags are the lifeline of all of our precious cargo. They hold all of our liquids, beauty products, messy makeup and even jewelry if we want. It’s a little thing we don’t always think about until the last minute sometimes, but a toiletry bag is one of the most important travel essentials. The biggest factor when choosing one is to make sure it is water resistant. Anything that spills in it needs to stay inside, so it doesn’t destroy your belongings during travel. These come in so many different sizes and different colors, so it’s a good idea to grab a high quality bag and just have fun with it!

Packing Cubes
Packing cubes are a huge organizational trick. For example, I like to pack entire outfits together so I know what I’m wearing once I get to my destination. They’re also a great way to keep undergarments and socks all in one place. Make up your packing list and then sort everything by cubes, it’s the most convenient way to pack, I’ve found! They fold up and are very easy to store and the ease of use for your trip is well worth it. I’d have to say it’s one of the best travel items ever created. There are a ton of affordable options, as well.
Travel Sized Items
When it comes to travel sized items, I think a lot of us go out and buy mini’s of things. But why not invest in bottles and containers we can pour our favorite products into for trips? There are a ton of affordable options for these, as well and they are easily cleaned and rinsed. We can call it a travel kit, something we have on hand for every vacation! It’s a great option to have for all of your best trips.
Carry On Items
Carry on items are a huge category because these are items that need to fit overhead on planes and can also be go-to bags for road trips or weekend getaways. Personally, I prefer to have my carry-on bags be suitcases, just in case there’s no room overhead and they end up needing to be checked. The hard shell is more protective than a traditional duffle bag. They are also essential travel accessories for virtually any flight.

Extras
I wanted to make sure to take note of items that aren’t necessarily gear, but are useful travel accessories. First and foremost: a portable charger for your cell phone is a necessity. It’s for safety and entertainment during your trip. A collapsible water bottle, travel camera, wireless headphones and a kindle paperwhite are a few other items I carry with me, all of which are small and fit into my personal bag easily.

There are some great picks here. I’ve been looking for new luggage. What we’re using now has just about had it.
Having a good suitcase is definitely ideal. I have a couple with bad wheels and it makes travel so hard. I don’t do duffels because I want my hands free when walking in the airport, especially with my young kids, so I opt for backpacks for our carry-on baggage. I do agree that a good bathroom bag is essential, though, since we use things from there multiple times per day!
The amazon packing cubes are a lifesaver. I want to be more organized when I travel especially with kids now. Thanks for these recommendations.
We love our spinners and cubes and toiletry kits. It makes things so much easier! These are all must-haves. The spinners are a game changer for kids so they don’t have to carry stuff, and my kids also usually put their backpacks on top of the spinners if the bags are heavy.
I have heard great things about the calpak luggage! I have their packing cubes!
It helps to have the right travel gear when going on holiday. I’ll normally take at least one suitcase for me and the kids and a carry on.
Yes and yes to daffle bags! I love having them with me whenever I travel. They are so much easier to carry around.
3 trips down and 3 more to go this year! I love to travel, thanks for the suggestions!
This is a great list for people who like to travel. Great collection and covers almost everything that makes life easy
