With Valentine’s Day coming up, it’s the perfect time to plan a romantic weekend getaway! There are so many great places to visit both within the United States and international. It’s really all about what you’re wanting to do. Whether it’s relax in a quiet place with a couples massage and romantic stroll with scenic views or find an adventure and visit historic homes and hiking trails. The best way to spend a weekend together is by doing things you both love to do. Because that weekend usually goes by quickly, so it’s time to start planning this trip out now!

Here are the best romantic getaways to take for a long weekend for the winter months!

Tel Aviv

Tel Aviv is one of the most beautiful cities to visit, with plenty of things to do! The views themselves are absolutely stunning, featuring beautiful beaches and turquoise water. It’s one of the best places to relax, because the beaches are so calming and there are fun things to do like visit the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, stroll the Port Area, visit the Sarona Market and so much more! My go-to hotel there is The Carlton! It is a beautiful hotel with amazing views of the water, a full spa, modern amenities like a rooftop pool, health club and even a jacuzzi! Honestly, you might not even want to leave the hotel on this trip! They tend to do Valentine’s Day specials, so you’ll want to check out this natural beauty for the colder months!

Palm Springs

Palm Springs is another place we love to visit! There is actually a lot to do in the desert! Candlelit dinners underneath the desert sky? Sign me up! Palm Springs is the perfect spot to visit, especially if you’ve never been before. With tons of local spas featuring amazing views and Joshua Tree Park not too far away, you have to make it here some day!

I have two hotels I particularly enjoy here and they offer different things. If you want an amazing escape with your significant other in the mountains, Korakia Pensione is the best! This Moroccan-inspired sexy hotel is just what you need! They offer saltwater pools, yoga, meditation, nightly outdoor movies, bike rentals, an indoor-outdoor spa and so much more.

Next, for those who just want to get away to relax, the Hotel Joaquin is the spot to be! It’s total Cali dream vibes located on Laguna Beach featuring private beach access, amazing breakfasts, tons of in-room amenities, bike rentals, access to surf boards and beach fun. Which is your vibe?! These boutique hotels have some of the most amazing guest rooms and warm weather is something we crave this time of year. What better place for a romantic escape from the rest of the world than in sunshine?

San Francisco

San Fran is a fun place to go on the West Coast with plenty of things to see to make for the best time! Stow Lake, Golden Gate Park, romantic couples spas, the Ferry Building and the Shakespeare Garden are just a few amazing things to do in this city. If you’re looking for a romantic place to stay, I recommend The Inn Above Tide! It’s referred to as “luxury on the water” and I think that’s the perfect way to describe it. They have amazing package options, plenty of rooms choices and of course, spas and adventures offered! Enjoy a romantic dinner at this couples-oriented escape for a romantic vacation.

The Poconos

If you’re near NYC, this is an ideal place to go for a romantic weekend because it’s not too far and it’s always a great time! There are adorable local cafes, you’re in beautiful nature so you can hike or go skiing if you’d like! It’s a total outdoor playground there. The French Manor and Spa has plenty of packages to book, which is always a good reason to check it out! You can enjoy a glass of wine and visit their enchanting spa for the entire weekend! With plenty of amenities, room options and great dining, this is the place to be! Romantic winter getaways experts think this is a great place to cozy up together during the frosty season.

Stowe, Vermont

Speaking of skiing, there is no better place to be than Stowe! Adventurous couples, look no further for the best quality time outdoors! Other than skiing, there are sleigh rides, ice skating and fantastic dining options. It is more of a historic town, so there are museums nearby to learn more about the history of Stowe, which is always super interesting. We love staying at The Topnotch Resort because that is exactly what it is– top notch! They have a luxurious spa featuring an indoor pool, jacuzzi and hot tub, which is great after exploring the outdoors all day in the winter. It’s such a quiet, serene place and it’s one we love to be at! This resort town has so much to offer, but we do enjoy skiing and then a couple’s massage for one of the best romantic winter getaways at this local hotel.

 

The Fingerlakes

Located in The Fingerlakes in NY, this is the perfect destination for NY locals and really anyone all over the world to see! Do you like spa treatments and wineries? Then you have to stay at The Belhurst Castle and Winery! Wine enthusiasts have actually named it the best hotel, so I think that’s enough for me to hear to determine on booking a trip! The spa and winery are all located on one property, so you don’t have to worry about getting to and from there. Book your romantic getaway here! Colorado Springs

Have you been to Colorado Springs? It’s so underrated and we need to talk about how amazing it is for the perfect romantic getaway weekend! Visit the Garden of the Gods, take a Hot Air Balloon ride, see their fine art center, enjoy wine while taking a painting class and stroll the Royal Gorge Bridge! The Garden of the Gods hotel offers romantic activities like a serene spa and they offer tons of wellness options, which is great for a weekend retreat. They have outdoor activities like pickleball and tennis, too, which is always something to look forward to! Check out their room packages and see which works best for your romantic trip! A full day skiing with luxurious amenities is right up our alley!

Santa Barbara

This is one of the most romantic getaways for the sole purpose of the fact that this is a great place to just enjoy each other in a beautiful town. Watch the sunset, go to a wine tasting, explore the Botanic Gardens or even try a drive in movie! The Riviera Beach House is so relaxing and they have amazing food options! It’s right on the beach, so you can wake up and have a delicious breakfast and just relax all day. Located near piers and theatres, you will have your day fully booked!

Paris

How could I not include the city of love?! We actually will be going back in a few weeks and we cannot contain our excitement! This is the most romantic city in the world- love is everywhere there! So what better place to take a trip to? We’ve been a few times, you can read all about our trips here. I discovered onefinestay, which is a luxury vacation rental service! No dealing with hotel hassle here, they have 24/7 concierge to help assist with anything from groceries to activities. Although, I did discover Hotel Providence and I have to say it looks incredibly romantic! It’s a stunning boutique hotel with amazing food. You have to check it out!

Venice

Another place we love to visit is Venice! It’s not only got beautiful architecture, but the scenery overall is something you need to experience. How romantic would a gondola ride be and dinner afterwards? The art and the food is something to be explored! Hotel Cipriani is one of my top choices! They have a spa, gorgeous suites and the dining options are among some of the best!

NYC

We can’t forget about our home of NYC! There truly is so much to do here. I wouldn’t say this is a place to come to relax, but adventure! If you want a getaway with great food and endless activities, New York City is the place to go! We have dinner cruises, Broadway shows and the best shopping around! There are tons of hotel options. Cachet near Times Square, The Standard Highline which is near a ton of food and activities or even The Rockaway Hotel if you want to be outside of the city. They have an amazing spa!

Niagara Falls

Finally, what is more romantic than Niagara Falls?! Watching the falls and exploring the historic town is something everyone should do at least once in their lifetime. It makes for some of the most romantic trips! The Sterling Inn and Spa is the place to be! They have a soothing spa that offers couples massages, relaxation massages, body wraps, facials and more! The food is great and they have room packages you’ll definitely want to see!
