Every year I say that I can’t believe we’re at the end of the year, but here we are again! The big apple is the best place to ring in the new year beyond the Times Square celebration. There are so many New Year’s Eve events that take place throughout the city. With things like live entertainment, a champagne toast, views of the iconic ball drop, there is so much to look forward to. If you want to avoid large crowds, look for a unique way to celebrate the annual event because it does it very busy here.
For those that want a once in a lifetime experience, go see the ball drop in person! And for those that want something less crowded for a celebration, we have found the hottest parties and the best celebrations in town. You will want to book these as soon as you decide because space is always limited to celebrate at the stroke of midnight. Check out these New Year’s Eve experiences and let’s start making our plans!

Atlas Yacht
This is actually a family friendly dinner cruise, so it’s one of the few places you could bring the whole family to. The night features an open bar, amazing views of New York City, especially near the Statue of Liberty. What better way to ring in the year than on a boat cruise? It is black tie optional and tickets are still on sale. As one of the pricier events, you will want to take note of the gala wear and ticket prices, but it will definitely be a night to remember! Going to a New Year’s Eve celebration that is really a New Year’s Eve cruise has got to be one of the most unique ways to ring in the new year.
Guastavino’s
This is actually a historic landmark event space in the city! Located underneath the 59th Street bridge, this spot is a work of art! There will be a 5 hour open bar and light appetizers, so definitely eat dinner beforehand, but know that there will be bites to nibble on. Tickets start at $149 and you’ll want to grab them quickly because they are going fast! It’s one of the best places to spend New Years Eve.
Edison Rooftop
Let’s start with the rooftops! Edison has a historic art deco vibe and truthfully, the vibes are all there! Located on the ballroom and penthouses levels of this Times Square rooftop, this is one of the best family-friendly options for the night! Did I mention that the penthouse level was once Lenny Kravitz’s recording studio? I don’t know about you, but I love a rooftop bar and think this is the best way to find viewing areas for the night sky and any fireworks.
Yard House Times Square
If you want Times Square ball drop parties, Yard House is your spot! This unique experience will put you in the heart of the city, near where the ball gets dropped! This will be their first annual NYE party and they are excited to have you! With an open bar and appetizer bites to enjoy, consider this venue to kick off the new year!
DL Rooftop
Talk about a big party, there are 800 spots for this one! Obviously, there will be an open bar and amazing dj, but there is one big thing that makes this rooftop party stand out and that is food! There will be options, and a lot of other spots don’t have that, so keep that in mind when looking into getting tickets! The chandeliers and velvet furniture make this lounge incredibly sexy!
Harbor Rooftop
Looking for rooftop bars to be at when the crystal ball drops? Harbor is having one of the best dj sets and open bar options in town! It’s going to be a huge party but it’ll be one that is well worth it! With Hudson River views and table service, how could you miss this one?!
Clinton Hall
If you haven’t been to Clinton Hall, you’re missing out! It’s a good time, always! They describe themselves as a beer garden that meets an adult playground and I’d have to agree! With a dj and tons of tvs around their midtown location, you will not miss that midnight run! They have delicious American appetizers and a standard open bar. And you can’t beat their ticket prices!
Spend it on the Water to See Fireworks
Ring in the New Year in unforgettable style aboard the Star of The Northeast, offering stunning skyline views and an unbeatable front-row seat to the Statue of Liberty fireworks. Guests can enjoy a 3-hour premium open bar, buffet dinner, and live DJ entertainment across spacious indoor and outdoor decks. With boarding beginning at 8PM and tickets starting at $139, this family-friendly celebration is the perfect way to welcome 2026 on the water.
Another great option is to celebrate New Year’s Eve aboard the elegant Nautical Empress, where you’ll sail past New York’s iconic skyline while enjoying a festive buffet dinner and a 4-hour premium open bar. A live DJ sets the mood as guests take in breathtaking views and a spectacular fireworks display by the Statue of Liberty. Boarding starts at 8PM, tickets begin at $139, and families of all ages are welcome to experience this magical New Year’s celebration at sea.
PHD Terrace
We think this is the perfect rooftop venue for ringing in the New Year with panoramic views of the NYC skyline. Known for its stylish atmosphere and upscale crowd, the venue offers a high-energy party experience with top-tier cocktails, live DJs, and vibrant celebrations. Celebrate in style under the stars with an unforgettable night at one of the premier nightlife spots, where the city lights and festivities set the stage for the most epic NYE countdown.

I’m not from NYC, but I do live here now and there’s a lot on this list that even I haven’t done! We’ve got a business here that keeps my husband incredibly busy, but I’m trying to convince him to do something different this NYE and go out in the town! Something that his introverted self doesn’t typically do. Thanks for sharing these ideas, they’re helpful even for locals like myself!
Always happy to give ideas!
