We cannot wait for all the snowy days and ski clothing this upcoming winter. While we plan our next trip as a family, we have been getting some shopping done at the ski shop spots to get everything we need for our winter gear guide. Weather conditions are supposed to be more snow than we’ve had in years, so we’re really looking forward to a good ski holiday! It’s a good idea to get ahead on good preparation for ski gear. Here are our top pick options for ski season. We can’t wait to share our ski trip packing list to help you out with all your ski travel packing needs!

Base Layers
Firstly, the base layers are just as important as the outer layers for cross-country skiing! The most important things are staying warm and keep dry. The base layers are the layers you put on before getting your ski pants and ski jacket on for the slopes. These layers are known to trap your body heat to keep you as warm as possible. There are a bunch of matching sets to shop from these days for base layers. It makes the shopping that much more fun. I try to instill in my kids how important these layers are for skiing and the winter season generally. We love shopping merino wool and heat tec materials for this category specifically. These should be comfortable. They are worn under so many layers and you have to have a lot of movement and range with your pieces.
Outer Layers
Secondly, the outer layer is the next important step. A waterproof ski jacket must be the first thing on your list! Another really fun thing is that there are a lot of ski jackets that have matching snow pants so you have a full outfit. We also would include bibs and one pieces in the outer layer section for shopping. These go with the outer layers over the base layers. Every ski resort we go to, we bring one set of outer layers with us. They do take up so much space in the suitcase. These are things you will want to try on for the perfect fit because everything is so bulky. Keep in mind that waterproof materials are key here to keep you dry and warm on the slopes for your winter adventures.
Accessories
Finally the accessories are what finish off the looks with necessary items. For instance, snow boots and ski booth ski goggles and waterproof gloves are items we always have each year. Everything should be waterproof and if they are lined with fleece, even better! Ski equipment can be rented at most places, so you don’t have to get your own skis. A lot of people like to have their own ski helmet, safety is incredibly important. As winter sports fans, we try to be on top of everything we could possibly need for the slopes. Which is why we have our packing checklist to make sure everything is on the list and makes it into our bags!
