A NYC Holiday Card & Giveaway

I really cannot believe it’s that time of year again. The holidays are just a few weeks away! Sending out holiday cards to friends and family each year is probably one of the reasons that I love the holidays as much as I do. Even pre-kids, holiday cards were a big to do, for me. I would dress our little doggies in festive sweaters, with cute festive backdrop setting. For the past few years, our holiday cards have been New York City themed. With the many amazing backdrops at my disposal in this city, I want to capture them all.

Looking back to years past, Ryder and Siella stood in front of the E train subway car in 2012, our new crew of three were in the South Street Seaport for 2013, in 2014 they stood proudly with the Freedom Tower behind them, and last year a taxi trunk served as seats for my cuties. So this year, the pressure was on to find another iconic New York City spot. And what better place than Central Park!

One thing I learned over the years was to shoot holiday photos in the warmer fall months, so I can showcase the children’s outfits, without needing to bundle them up. This year I learned something else, to hire a family photographer. I am usually the one that shoots their photos each year, so it was a nice change to not be behind the camera this time.

Minted has been first choice for holiday cards for as long as I can remember. I just love the quality, service, and themes they offer every year, so it was a no brainer when they asked SITC to partner up again. Minted hired CJ, from Charlie Juliet Photography, to set up the photoshoot in Central Park. CJ was an absolutely dream to work with. She was great at capturing the kids attention, making the entire process tons of fun for them.

Plus Central Park in the fall is spectacular, we spend the entire day there!

Minted is the ultimate source for unique holiday cards, mostly designed by independent artists. With options like foil-pressed, new glittery foil, and luxe letterpress, there is card for just about everyone. Minted pays close attention to detail, offering free matching envelope designs and recipient addressing for cards. This year, they are coordinating custom stamps and free concierge address book service, which will save this busy mama lots of time!

I love every shot by CJ, and I seriously cannot decide which photo to choose for this year’s holiday card. Since I am so conflicted, I’ve narrowed down my choices to these four designs, and want to hear your thoughts on which one to choose! Leave a comment below, and the theme with the most picks is the winner!

  1. So you really can’t go wrong with any of these! Your kids are beautiful and are the backdrops! My favourite is the one where they are crossing the street.

  2. Those shots are amazing! I wish I could get shots like this of my kids. Unfortunately, most of the shots I get include weird faces, fingers in unattractive places, and looking in the wrong direction at all times. LOL

  3. How adorable are these holiday shots! I love that they aren’t just green and red and its out the box. My favorite is them crossing the street with the NYC taxis in the back…so New York!

  4. OH my goodness, how could you choose? Those are some really great photos. I think one or two is my favorite. Good luck choosing. That’s a fun dilemma to have though. 🙂

  5. Those are awesome! I think it’s great that you decided to shoot during the fall season. That’s brilliant! Their outfits are adorable and I like how the cards turned out as well.
