Making Impressions

We headed to Boston this past weekend for a quick getaway with the kids. Over the years, Jason and I have been there a number of times, but it was the children’s first time. I had forgotten just how much there is to do and see in Boston, and visiting this time with kids, gave us a chance to rediscover the city from a different view point. Attractions like the awesome Children’s Museum, the Duck Tour around the city, and the tour of Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum were never on our radar pre-kids.

We stopped and read every memorial plaque, in an effort to teach the kids about the historical significance of Boston. Most things went completely over their heads, but Ryder definitely pointed out memorial statues, and wondering why they were there. While they may not understand it all just yet, they definitely understand the concept of helping one another and giving back. In our home, we are forever discussing this topic, and every few months the kids know they need to choose a few of their toys to donate.

I was recently made aware of Walgreens’ new partnership with the Me to We Foundation, an innovative social enterprise that empowers people to change the world with their everyday choices. They offer socially conscious and environmentally friendly products as well as life-changing experiences. They have partnered with Walgreens and Unilever, so that when you buy any Caress, Suave or TRESemmé products at Walgreens or Duane Reade, a donation will be made that provides five gallons of clean water to a family in need, through their partnership with Unilever. We use most of these brands in our household, so for me it was a no brainer to become part of this #GiveH2OPE Campaign.

For every purchase of these products at participating Walgreens or Duane Reade, between now and September 30 2015, six cents will be donated to the Me to We Foundation, up to $200,000. For more information about the Me to We Foundation, visit www.metowe.com/foundationPurchases are not tax deductible. Not valid in Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.

I was asked to participate in the #GiveH2OPE To Others campaign sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own. #GiveH2OPE
