Lightweight Autumn Coats We Love

Fall weather is especially exciting to me because we get to add another layer this time of year for extra warmth. The cold days are still a bit far from us as we are just now entering the new season, but it’s never too early to get a cute jacket! The coats this season look pretty different from last year, which is interesting because the trends seem to be newer this fall season. Living in the fashion capital of the country, we see a lot of trends come and go, and I think it’s better to go for the trends that are going to last awhile. Especially since not every apartment can fit an entire closet full of just coats!

These are 12 jackets we have in our cart for an extra layer this season!

Trends I’m Loving:

Sherpa/Teddy

Firstly, this is an outer layer that does its job! I like to transition these into the winter season, as well because they are a great option for cold weather. Anything extra cozy is a win in my book! This statement jacket has been a trend for some time now but it seems like styles and silhouettes have changed so it’s a versatile piece that’s ever evolving for chilly days.

Cropped Puffer

Secondly, puffer coats are so in and I’m honestly so happy because they are by far the warmest, most practical option! They’re the best fall jackets because they are typically a packable jacket that goes with so many things. I love the shorter trend that’s popular at the moment because it really shows off whatever bottoms you are wearing and makes your legs look longer. It’s an investment piece that will earn its worth in no time. A versatile jacket like this is the perfect layering piece for a more modern day look that will outlast transitional weather.

Pop of Color

Furthermore, I know neutrals for a new fall jacket are great to have in the closet because they go with everything. While I admire their versatility for outdoor activities, I think it’s fun to have a pop of color for outerwear, especially because falls can quickly experience bad weather. It’s a great way to brighten up your mood and outfit! A pink color for an outer shell is ideal for me. Of course, I found the best options with a bright color for street style outfit inspiration. For those that like neutrals, yes, I found the perfect jackets for you, too!

Blazer

Finally, blazers are incredibly on trend for a more modern look to everyday basics. The Frankie Shop is known for their oversized blazers, which are stunning, but I do like a more fitted blazer for meetings! It’s a chic coat that will never go out of style because it’s constantly coming back. These are classic coats that are always great vintage finds. My daughters have been borrowing mine already! My favorite options are from LoveShackFancy, but you can find great affordable choices from H&M, Quince and Madewell.

This blazer has a texture boucle fabric designed from a recycled wool cotton blend. The piece includes gold buttons down the center front and a peplum finish at the hem.
Secondly, to say I’ve been obsessed with this blazer would be an understatement! I love wearing the set, pairing it with jeans or even a dress!
Thirdly, everyone needs a good denim jacket! I love that this one is cropped and the shade of jean is perfect.
Bomber jackets are on trend big time! I like this style because it’s on the more feminine silhouette side and I find it to be more flattering.
Another fabulous LSF find! This one is dressier than the pink and a great way to add a pattern to any look.
This is an interesting coat because there’s no collar. I love the pink color and ruffles!
Moreover, quilted jackets are always in and out of style. I love that this is paired with denim to be off the charts!
Now this is one of the coolest jackets I’ve ever seen! It’s a trench coat that can actually unzip into being a cropped jacket! Talk about versatility and it’s under $200.
Shearling and teddy are my favorites this season. This shade of pink makes this cozy jacket even that much better.
I thought this was so interesting! It’s a blazer with knit arms. So the blazer is a warm wool and the arms are a yummy and cozy cashmere.
Furthermore, this jacket is the best leather jacket I’ve seen this season! It’s a great shade and fit, while the ruffle shoulders add a feminine touch.
Finally, I thought this was a unique jacket that could add a fun pattern to any look. The frills on the shoulder are my favorite part!
