With Thanksgiving coming up right around the corner before we know it, we are all over planning out a Macy’s Parade focused morning. For those that will either be visiting town or live here and are looking for a holiday staycation, I’ve pulled a few hotels that are located along the route of the parade. You’ll want to book ASAP as rooms fly here! I’ll be sharing the hotels with not only the best views, but that make for a fantastic stay, as well.
Here are my top hotel choices to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade from!
Hilton Garden Inn New York/West 35th Street
Firstly, the Hilton is always a great stay! It’s a trustworthy hotel and being on 35th Street means big business on Thanksgiving morning. Since the parade ends on 34th street, these are prime views! Of course, you’ll have to request a room with a view with any of these hotels, if you want to be in on the action, this is where to stay! Just don’t have to leave the hotel until the afternoon, as things are quite busy outside.
Residence Inn Times Square
The moment you enter their site, they are advertising their amazing views and let me just say, they are amazing every day of the year. I love that they have Prime Room Packages for 4 night stays since you’ll want to fly in earlier than the holiday. The hotel also offers Partial View Rooms for a birds eye view of the amazing balloons.
JW Marriott Essex House New York
Located close to Central Park, you will have some of the most luxurious views! From your room or directly outside on Central Park South, front row seats for the parade are available–as long as you book on time or get a spot outside early. Book your stay and specify you want a parade view luxury suite!
Warwick New York
Warwick is on W 54th Street and the views are some of the very best! Head right on over to their special offerings section and select the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade option to specify that you want parade views. The rooms go quickly, so it is important to book your room as soon as you can!
The Quin Central Park by Hilton Club
Another Hilton Hotel, but this one is located just steps from Carnegie Hall, a Central Park hotel is guaranteed phenomenal parade views. I recommend calling rather than booking online, but apart from the holiday, this is a central hotel you’ll want to stay at in NYC. Location is everything on your stay or staycation here!
Luma Hotel Times Square
Closer to the end of the route, this Times Square spot is a prime location! Their parade package is one of the best I’ve seen! Luma offers deluxe overnight accomodations, grab and go boxed breakfast for the parade, festive fall-themed welcome amenity, parade route map as well as a guide to watching the balloons get inflated the night before, Macy’s Savings Passes and dinner credit to AperiBar depending on your booking and the amount of days. Can you ask for a nicer concierge?! This is amazing!
Mandarin Oriental, New York
The Mandarin offers a birds eye view of the parade with a required 3 night stay. They have a nice welcome amenity, as well and are located at Columbus Circle, steps from Central Park. Again, not only is this great for parade views, but you will want to stay here anyway, as it is a prime location.
New York Hilton Midtown
Wrapping up with the final Hilton option of our roundup, this 53rd Street spot will put you in the heart of it all. One amazing thing to note is they have a Thanksgiving feast at Herb N’ Kitchen, a restaurant in their lobby, so you have holiday accommodations! With a series of fun activations and some of the best parade views in town, this is a top option for the day!
1 Hotel Central Park
Finally, this is another Central Park hotel, which means you are guaranteed to be close to the balloons. This is a great place to stay and get outside to see it all in person. I recommend getting up earlier than you think and watch the parade on the streets and then take a nap before a Thanksgiving dinner in the city!

Love this tip!
I had no idea there were so many great hotels along the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade route—that’s such a smart way to experience the event. I’d love to stay at The Westin New York Grand Central for its views and convenience, but I wonder how early you’d need to book for Thanksgiving weekend!
It’s so much fun!
The parade package at Luma Hotel Times Square caught my eye! Deluxe accommodations and a boxed breakfast make for a special morning. I can’t help but imagine opening my window to the parade view. What a unique holiday experience!
yes, a great option!
Hello Brianne, thank you for all your insightful help with these hotels along the parade route. Would you know the best cost effective option along the route for my family, which consist of my wife, two daughters, and their families, 5-grandkids. When we travel together we typically look for anything with 5-bedrooms but i doubt an affordable hotel would offer this. any suggestions would help. Thanks! Bill
I suggest booking further in advance to avoid the higher prices closer to the holiday! Further along the route helps as well instead of booking in the heart of all the action.
The Hilton Garden Inn on West 35th Street sounds like the perfect spot to catch the parade! I love how it’s right where the parade ends—prime viewing without the crowds. Definitely booking early for that view!
Enjoy!!!
Great list of hotels for the parade! I love that you focused on prime locations with amazing views. This makes planning a Thanksgiving trip so much easier. Can’t wait to check out these spots!
so glad you like them!

The way you mentioned not leaving the hotel until afternoon because things are busy outside really got me—it turns the whole morning into a cozy, unhurried kind of magic.
yes, staying in the moment with the family is great!
The way you mention that you don’t have to leave until afternoon because things are busy outside really stuck with me—it’s such a grounded, honest detail that makes the whole fantasy feel reachable.
