Family Travel With Evenflo

My family and I have been long overdue for a mini vacay, so when The Moms invited us to enjoy a weekend in the Poconos, we immediately said yes. A little time away from NYC was just what we needed. Jason will be traveling again starting next week so this couldn’t have come at a better time. This trip was also to celebrate the launch of the new Evenflo Platinum Protection series of carseats.

Saturday afternoon we packed the car and headed to Woodloch Pines Resort in Pennsylvania. The ride to Woodloch took us a little over two hours, and the kids all slept during most of the drive which made it super relaxing and stress free for Jason and I.

Woodloch is nestled in the picturesque wilderness of the Pocono Mountains lake region, just 90 miles from NYC. A vacation at Woodloch is really about bringing families closer together.  All too often “life” gets in the way of the things that are most important.  The activities, dining facilities and entertainment are all designed to have families relax and play together, to reconnect and we did just that. I have to say we did so much in a 24 hour span, my kids are still talking about the amazing experience.

Woodloch offers an endless variety of activities and adventure for all ages, all year-long. The minute we got there we hit the game room. The kids played the arcade games, enjoyed air hockey, and road the electric hot wheels and bumper cars. Jason might have had more than the kids in this game room. There were so many laughs!

Although we didn’t spend much time in the actual room, I have to say they are perfect for larger families. I think when you have 2+ kids, the room dynamics when traveling changes drastically. It was nice to have a separate bedroom as well as a family room, along with a balcony which made for spacious accommodations.

Next, it was time for dinner in Woodloch’s main dining area. All guests must get to dinner at the same time. The staff were so lovely and greeted everyone upon entering the lodge. The kids favorite part was the fun characters from princesses to ninja turtles that come around during dinner time. We shared our family dinner with good friends, the Marino Family, and the kids had an absolute blast together! Traveling with other families with kids the same age is key. The kids all played and enjoyed each others company, while the parents were able to catch up and have a stress free dinner.

The next morning after a huge breakfast we took the kids to the indoor pool area. The kids played for hours in their 100% kid friendly splash pad. The pool time was absolutely amazing considering the winter we’ve had, the kids and us couldn’t get enough! After pool time, we decided to head back to home. We figured the kids were exhausted and would fall asleep during the trip back. If the kids didn’t have school the following day, we totally would have stayed an extra day. There was just so much to do at Woodloch we would have loved to experience everything. There is already talk about a summer time trip. There is a huge lake on the grounds, and I’m sure a ton of fun summer sports to do.

It was a really rainy ride home with slippery roads and any parent wants to make sure their kids are safe. We road home with peace of mind that all of our kiddos were snuggled and fastened up in their carseats. And properly might I add. Before leaving for the trip I had a phone call with a safety expert regarding proper carseat installation. Did you know that your child should not be in their carseat with a jacket on?
