If it was up to me, I would capture every waking moment with my children. In part, this is exactly why I started this blog – as a way to document my journey of motherhood, and after so many years, I am grateful that my children will have this journal to reflect upon. As many family photos as we have, I am usually not the one in front of the camera. I am forever documenting the kids, Jason and the kids, and then occasionally, there is the one obligatory family photo that I sneak my way into.
Many years ago, we started having a professional photographer shoot our family in its entirety. I love the ease of having someone else capture these moments, and I’ve tried to commit to a shoot at least twice year. These photos are always cherished, and they usually make an appearances on both grandparents mantels. We have used many photographers and companies over the years, but Flytographer has become a recent favorite. They are super easy to work with, staffing freelance photographers everywhere, so they can practically be hired anywhere in the world. In fact, we used them last time we traveled to California.
Booking with Flytographer was super easy! We simply browsed through their photographer galleries, to find a photographer with a style that suited our needs. There is even an option to check out the most popular local backdrops for cities like New York, Paris, Rome, London or Los Angeles. Once you select a date, a Shoot Concierge will confirm ideal times and availability. This will be followed by a “Shoot Scoop” email with all the details. Since everything is processed online, it was super simple.
For our shoot, we choose to have our photos done at the High Line in the Meatpacking District. It’s funny but of all the places we’ve taken photoshoots at, this one has never made it’s way to the shoot list. Once we had our photographer, all we had to do was show up! Our photographer Samantha was super nice, and wonderful with the kids making them laugh and smile. She was super laid back, and just let them be in their own environment while she captured candids of them. Candids are always my personal favorite.
Within a few days, I received a link from our Concierge. I was totally blown away with all of the photos; so much so that I am having a hard time deciding which to print! I already have a few in my cart that will be gifted to the Grandmas for Mother’s Day.
Super excited to have teamed up with Flytographer to give away THREE 30-minute sessions. Enter via the Rafflecopter widget below. And, if you don’t win, or need to book this service asap, use code FLYTOGRAPHERMOM for $25 off your next session!

Those pictures look absolutely gorgeous! You have a beautiful family there. I really like the idea that you can find somebody no matter where you are in the United States. It would be fun to get some family portraits in a place that you don’t live in just because.
Your family is so absolutely beautiful! I love your shots, and I love this giveaway!
Those are beautiful family photographs! Photographs are one of those things that are treasured from generation to generation. My boyfriend and I love looking at photographs of when our parents were kids. Storing photographs is just as important as taking beautiful pictures. Always make sure to use acid free albums or boxes to store photos in.
