Escaping the cold in NOFLO

New Yorkers, let me introduce you to what might just be our new favorite escape: NOFLO. With just one easy flight from LaGuardia, you can trade winter layers for white-sand beaches and calm, turquoise waters that instantly make you exhale. Along Northwest Florida’s scenic 30A lies WaterSound, a collection of thoughtfully designed coastal communities that feel equal parts refined and relaxed—the kind of place where time slows down in the best way.

What They Offer

What immediately stood out to me was how quiet and uncrowded it felt, while still offering so much to do. Mornings start slow with warm sunshine and walks through charming, walkable beach towns. Days are filled with family-friendly activities, from biking along scenic paths to paddleboarding on crystal-clear water, and of course, long beach days that feel both restorative and indulgent. Add in incredible dining and plenty of shopping, and it’s the kind of destination that truly has something for everyone.

Where To Stay

When it comes to where to stay, WaterSound offers a range of beautiful options depending on your vibe. You can be right in the heart of it all at the WaterColor Inn, enjoy the polished elegance of The Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach, or opt for the relaxed coastal feel of the WaterSound Inn. Each delivers its own version of laid-back luxury—thoughtful, beautiful, and never overwhelming.

One of my favorite parts of the trip was how effortlessly family-friendly it was. From WaterColor Camp for the kids to endless outdoor activities, it’s a place where everyone feels considered. Gemma and I spent the most incredible weekend here, fully present and unplugged, soaking up the simple joys of being together in such a peaceful setting.

We came home feeling completely recharged and ready to jump back into our routine—something that doesn’t always happen after a trip. WaterSound is luxury without the chaos, space to truly unwind, and exactly the kind of reset New York winters call for. If you’re craving a warm, design-forward escape that feels easy and restorative, I’ve left a link in my bio so you can discover more.
