This month, Jason and I celebrated 13 years of marriage! I remember that day as if it were yesterday. Our wedding was held on the beautiful beaches of Punta Cana, with 81 of our closest friends and family. It was the most magical day and perfect in every way. And it was only last year that I finally shared our wedding story on the blog and how Jason and first met. This year, its lucky number thirteen which I feel is a major milestone in marriage and should definitely be celebrated! Unfortunately, the global pandemic put a kabash on any travel plans we had, including our usual celebration of dining out in our favorite city.
Here we are 13 years later, with 3 kids and a new pup. There have been amazing days, there have been crappy days, but most of all just days with you by my side. I feel so grateful we kicked off our journey together doing the thing we love to do…travel. Even though now, my passport is screaming to be stamped, I know this downtime and togetherness has only made our family unit even stronger.
We were able to celebrate in that same spot seven years ago with our three children when Jason’s cousins were wed there. (picture above).
If I had my life to live over again…next time I would find you sooner so that I could love you longer. Happy anniversary to us!
When looking up wedding anniversary symbols, 13 years is associated with lace! I read online, for your 13th anniversary, why not surprise your partner with a weekend trip to Bruges, home of lace-making? Um maybe pre-covid, but how about just a lace dress.
This year has been a while one for sure, but it is only just the beginning. Cheers to us Jason! And to 100 more! Happy Anniversary!
