Carnival Night features thrilling amusement park rides, entertaining games and activities, delicious food for both kids and adults, music, children’s book signings from renowned authors, prizes and more! This year, we are excited to announce the addition of a silent auction featuring luxury items like vacation getaways, designer goods, and spa trips, as well as a fishbowl raffle for the kids. All proceeds from Carnival Night benefit Camp Homeward Bound, the nation’s first summer sleep-away camp designed specifically for homeless children, and Bound for Success, an after-school program and summer day camp for kids in shelter.
Nearly 24,000 children will sleep in NYC homeless shelters tonight. The trauma of homelessness can wreak havoc on a child’s emotional, physical and academic health. But with the caring, specialized programming Camp Homeward Bound and Bound for Success provide, homeless girls and boys can overcome these challenges and have the same bright futures as their housed peers. And most of all, they are given the chance to grow, learn, play and pursue their dreams.
