Each year, I look forward to Baby Buggy’s biggest family charity “Bedtime Bash” event held at the iconic Victorian Gardens, and last week, the big kids and I attended the bash for our second year in a row. The Baby Buggy organization helps provide essential clothing, gear & services to families in need nationwide. I live for doing fun activities with my children, and I love when there is an opportunity to incorporate a charity organization with all the events. As they are grow older, they have come to understand the meaning and importance of giving back.
This year’s family-fun party featured carnival rides, face painting, costumed characters and specially curated kid-friendly activities for over 1,000 guests. As this year’s VIP guests, Baby Buggy welcomed many fathers and children from the Bronx Fatherhood Program, one of Baby Buggy’s grantee sites. This program provides low-income fathers with the support and training required to be strong and stable caregivers for their children. Baby Buggy provides these dads with essentials, such as diapers and cribs, to be used as incentives in the programs, while ensuring the health and safety of their children.
Founded by Jessica Seinfeld in 2001, Baby Buggy takes an innovative, child-focused approach to curbing generational poverty. To date, Baby Buggy has provided over 8.5 million items to more than 139 anti-poverty program sites in 17 markets. They have been rated a 4-Star Charity by Charity Navigator, and have received national accreditation from the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance.
This year, Baby Buggy raised $535,000 for the annual Bedtime Bash. This remarkable achievement was made possible by sponsors including Destination Maternity, Johnson & Johnson, Britax & BOB strollers, Little Me, Skip Hop, BabyBorjn and more. Siella loved getting her hair done in the J&J booth and was even happier to go home with some of the Johnson & Johnson hair products we already adore and use on a daily, like their NO MORE TANGLES leave-in conditioner.
We all had a blast that night in the park, and I went home with a full heart, proud to have supported and donated to such a great organization like Baby Buggy.
