Basketball Diaries {& Giveaway}

This past weekend Jason and I took the kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn! I love anything that takes place at the Barclay’s because it becomes a fun escape to Brooklyn for us, and the fairly new arena is always such a treat!

The kids were pretty psyched too, because this would be their first ever basketball game. Ryder has been showing an interest in playing b-ball, so I knew this would totally deepen his interests. I totally remember going to see the Harlem Globetrotters play as a child. We had court side seats, and I remember my siblings and I getting one of their signature balls autographed. I think my brother still has his even to this day!

The Harlem Globetrotters are an exhibition basketball team that combines athleticism, theater, and comedy. Their 2017 tour features even more amazing basketball skills and wizardry, with a continued focus on family entertainment. This season, the basketball’s greatest innovators will debut basketball’s first-ever 4-point line, a move that comes six years after the team unveiled the first 4-point shot in the history of the sport.

We laughed and cheered at all the funny stunts throughout the game, while the kids enjoyed your typical game-time food like hot dogs and ice cream. Always a must when watching a game! It was amazing to see such amazing talent and skills on the court. A perfect Sunday outing, indeed!

  2. Woah ! the Globetrotters had a 7 year old playing with them ???? That’s amazing & so cute ! Me and my family would love to go see them .

  3. I’m not watching basketball games recently, but I remember when we were teenager, we also ẹnoyed hot dogs and ice cream, sometimes popcorn, watching our local basketball team played against neighbor team. That’s great time, we laughed, we cheered, we screamed, so lovely memories.
    I’m glad Ryder has interest in basketball, who knows, maybe someday I’ll bring my kids to see him play 🙂
