The Fourth of July calls for new home decor and serving pieces for your Independence Day gatherings! You know I love to decorate for all holidays and patriotic holidays are no exception. It’s a great way to spruce up your space and keep it feeling like there are new arrivals in your home. One tiny new piece a year can be fun, but these are great patriotic decorations that can be put away and pulled out each year to feel brand new. Beyond front door decor, we are diving into kitchen finds, outdoor decor and easy ways to make your home a fun time for guests for any July party you might be having. We’re taking a patriotic event and making it something fun to decorate with for seasonal decor! These are the items we love at a great price this season!
Americana Themed Dining Pieces
Firstly, for anyone hosting a gathering for the holiday weekend, the perfect way to begin with Americana home decor ideas is to start with the diningware and serveware. Some people aren’t into all the stars and stripes in their home, so having the perfect mix of practicality and a few fun pieces for visual interest is key. For instance, blue candlestick holders or bold strips on a table runner are small additions to the space that bring about that patriotic feel. A little red can make your space feel more colorful and it is a seasonal color! Red flowers add a great pop of color to the table while still remaining versatile. Something to stay away from is color combinations in unexpected ways. Red, white, blue, silver and gold all feel very on brand for the holiday.
Decor
Furthermore, July decorations are made to last all summer. These can be pieces to stay beyond the holiday because Americana is a summer theme! I would say to try to keep it classic, to make it feel neutral while still being fun. Rustic decor ideas like bold stripes for living room decor or a seasonal wreath for the door are subtle ways to add vibrant colors to the space for American pride. The first thing do is swap out our pillows for a pop on our white couch. Throw pillows are season in my mind and a great way to change up the space so it’s constantly feeling fresh. Last year, we upgraded a few vases and added some color to the kitchen table for July 4th.
Fun Pieces
Finally, it’s always fun to add a couple pieces of decor that can’t really stick around for long but are fun to have for a holiday! For instance, mini flags! Try American flag toothpicks for treats you’re making or flag wall art. We like the idea of those string designs to hang for holidays but we do try to keep it on the more neutral side as we save these for the whole month of July. It’s America’s birthday and a blue theme feels very on point for the occasion and entire summer for that matter.
