11 Perfect Beach Reads

Nothing beats a new book on the best beach. The perfect read is one that you are constantly looking forward to picking back up. We’ll be heading out of New York City to be out east for the summer soon. I will be starting our own book club with our friends on our favorite beach. Grabbing a good book to relax is the only thing we need to wind down from a long day or a long winter season really. Whether you like romance novels, historical fiction, graphic novels or a murder mystery, there are tons of options. We are rounding up the best page turners for your next beach trip during the summer months.

Genre

Firstly, we all need to shop by the genre we enjoy. There’s nothing worse than having to pick up the type of book we don’t respond well to and push through the whole thing. Beach reads are meant to be options we want to spend so much time with. Summer reading growing up should really be the only time we have to read books we don’t look forward to. The perfect beach book can look like a lot of different things. Especially if you enjoy multiple genres. Which is awesome, because that means there’s more for you to pick from. Last summer, we read a lot of love story books. But this summer, it feels like there are some really popular books in the self help genre. We’re always open to a great book!

Book Length

Secondly, this might sound cheesy but if you can’t commit to a 400 page book, don’t do it! If you need a quick read for beach books, then do that. Especially if you feel like you savor your favorite books so you like to pace yourself slower, that is a great option.

Alternatively, longer reads can be great because they last longer for a great beach read or even a long flight to your next destination. These are also great for those who are speedy readers. With all types of books on the market, you can mix and match the lengths to get you through your beach trips. Maybe to for a longer book for the first book and wrap up the month with a shorter read for the second book. Summer break is on its way and the warmer weather calls for a great read to mark off your list.

New Releases

Finally, we love new releases and oldies that are goodies! But with all the recent new releases and pre-orders coming out, we are exceptionally excited to grab the latest book. There have been tons of releases in recent years and we are still catching up on all of those. But for a summer beach book, we are looking forward to a fun book. Books with a plot twist, different perspectives or a beautiful novel sounds ideal. Summer holidays are the time to spend treating yourself and taking the time we all need to wind down and books are the perfect way to do it!

Firstly, this has got to be the most sought after read at the moment. It’s all about letting others say and do the things they are going to do and letting yourself focus on just yourself.
Secondly, this one is a heartfelt memoir. It is about her journey healing from childhood trauma using MDMA-assisted therapy. Itโ€™s an honest, powerful story about facing the past and finding peace.
Thirdly, we love Tinx! This is a pre-order at the moment but it feels like the ultimate beach read. An It Girl faces a scandal and flees the city to go the Hamptons.

This has been a popular book for some time now. This is more of a historical fiction novel that follows the life of fictional Hollywood icon Evelyn Hugo as she recounts her glamorous and tumultuous past to journalist Monique Grant. Through the narrative, the book explores themes of fame, love, identity, and the sacrifices made for success
We love Emily Henry books! The story follows two writers, Alice Scott and Hayden Anderson, who are competing to write the biography of the reclusive heiress Margaret Ives, leading to unexpected complications.
Now this is the perfect beach read! This debut read is a fast-paced rom-com set in New York City.
