Siella and I are kicking off Women’s History Month by partnering with @penguinkids to share the all new She Persisted chapter book series, and we couldn’t be more excited! The She Persisted chapter books are based on the best-selling picture book series by Chelsea Clinton and Alexandra Boiger, which has been on a constant repeat in our home. The girls and I even saw the off-Broadway play here in NYC based on the book!

Raising two girls, it’s super important to me that we acknowledge Women’s History Month. Telling stories of strong women from the past and recognizing them for their achievements empowers my daughters to understand their accomplishments and know that anything is possible for them to achieve in the future.

The first three She Persisted chapter books tell the powerful stories of Harriet Tubman by @andreapinkey1, Claudette Colvin by @lclineransome, and Sally Ride by @atiaabawi, all with illustrations by gillianflint_illustration. Siella read the Claudette Colvin book over the weekend, and is just loving this new chapter book series so much that she even shared them with her class!

Gemma recently asked for a phone so she can stay in touch with her friends. Under normal circumstances I would’ve said no because I personally think she is too young. But since we aren’t socializing like we use to and play dates are few and far between, I did some research and discovered @gabbwireless. It’s a simplified phone for kids with no social media, no internet, no games, and no worries for me! She can call and text and nothing more. It’s been the cutest watching her chat away with friends and family members.
