Spa Day with Plaza Athenee

I am so embarrassed to admit this, but something I completely let go since becoming a mom…my skin. Before kids I would always make sure to get frequent facials, made sure my makeup was washed off before bed, would use eye cream. Nowadays, I am lucky I remember to apply moisturizer after a shower. As I am getting older, I am definitely noticing signs of aging in my face especially my eyes and really need to start taking care of myself more.

So when Hotel Plaza Athenee invited me to come in for a facial (a very long and overdue one), I immediately responded absolutely! This facial couldn’t have come at a better time, just before the holidays. I arrived at the gorgeous hotel just off Madison Ave a little before my appointment. From there I was escorted into my own room, basically a studio size hotel room.

The hotel’s spa features four Asian themed private treatment suites offering the comfort and splendor for which the hotel is know for. To maintain an atmosphere of privacy each suite contains a dressing room, lounge chair for relaxation, and a private steam shower. I was completely blown away by this, because every spa I’ve ever been to have a shared lounge area.

Spa Valmont for Plaza Athenee  is the only luxury hotel spa in New York City to exclusively carry Valmont Cosmetics skin care lines, offering guests therapies and treatments that set new standards of excellence while delivering the utmost in relaxation, revitalization and rejuvenation. The esthetician first came in to ask me some questions about my skin, as well as give me a foot massage in a rose petal filled basin. Throughout my facial, she let me know what types of products she was applying to my skin, as well as recommend products and ways to improve my skin. I adored all of the Valmont products and will continue to use them to prevent my skin from aging (eeeeek!). I left the spa with my face totally gleaming and could not have been happier with the results! Not mention, it was pure relaxation and the perfect pampering for this tired mama.
