We all know the spring season brings rainy days. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the easiest time styling looks for April showers. Some of my favorite rainy day outfits have been looks centered around something like fun rain boots or a stylish trench coat. The simplest way to put together a look for rainy weather is by finding pieces that are more than waterproof. But items that you will look forward to wearing. Not every day has to be full of stylish rainy day outfits but I find that I am happier on those gloomy days when I like my outfit! These are pieces you can implement into the perfect rainy day outfit ideas you have all season long!
Rain Jacket
Firstly, everyone should own a rain coat! Forget the fact that there aren’t a ton of cute options, this is what saves your outfit details. I can’t tell you the number of times I have run out in the rain in a dress and wished I had a waterproof coat. A simple sweater won’t cut for the rain and torrential downpours, even if you do have a new umbrella. Casual rainy day outfit ideas can absolutely still be pulled off with a weather proof coat and still remain a chic look. We’ll pull some options that are natural and a pop of color for the perfect outfit. Rainy climate can come with heavy wind as well so this will not only keep us dry but warm! An oversized sweater fits under these too which can be a difficult thing to style with cropped or more tight jacket options.
Rain Boots
Secondly, rain boots are not the cutest items either but again, these are essential! Even with warmer weather, wet feet are the easiest way to get sick. Especially in New York City when we are running around all day, we have to keep dry. Hunter boots are our absolute favorite brand. They’ve got tons of styles, colors and these rubber soles are the perfect way to keep dry. I actually love how they look in matters of fashion and can be paired with anything from a pair of jeans to a denim skirt. They also make waterproof knee boots so if you need taller options for things like skirts and dresses, they are a great option. We’ll pull a few more below!
Accessories
Finally, rainy day accessories can’t be overlooked! With the rain, we tend to steer away from larger purses and more towards options such as fanny packs. They fit under our rain coat and umbrella. Additionally, this is the time to keep our hair up! Things like hair scarves, cute pony tail holders and hair clips can give you a stylish hair look while keeping it out of your face and the rainy weather. It’s the perfect opportunity to find new accessories to have fun with before the next season comes. We consider it a transitional season and accessories are a way to revamp a look especially if you want to dress up rain boots and a rain coat!
