We are all over Pinterest! Just constantly looking for predictions for all things fashion, home, travel and recipe content. Recently, we discovered that the coming year is going to be full of Pinterest’s theme for fashion. It is like an explosion of vintage maximalism. Which, you know we love! Bold self-expression is kinda our thing! Last week we took a deep dive into new trends to create mood boards for our closet plans for the next year. Two trends were ruling the site and they were Cottage Core also known as Castle Core and the fisherman aesthetic. We are still trying to figure out how gen zers are making the fisherman aesthetic something we can also rock and make look cool. But we are obsessed with anything vintage looking. Henceforth, take a look at our favorite pieces below to start styling the Cottage-Core trend.
Breaking Down the Trend
Firstly, I’m sure we are all thinking the same thing: what on earth is this trend? If I could embody vintage bows, castle fashion and prairie looks almost into one fashion trend it would be this. It’s a new take on vintage pieces dating further into the years where people lived in castles. For instance, we’re taking our castle house plans and turning them into fashion plans to bring to New York! Dark cherry seems to be the color of the year with all the Pinterest suggestions. But it can be more simple to go from this dark tone to bring either more feminine castle fashion inspired touches to a look or turn them a bit softer.
Key Pieces
Secondly, we’re going to see a lot of square neck and sweetheart necklines along with corset details and more bows for an eclectic maximalism look. These can absolutely be toned down but they will be more of the focal point here. You know me and you know how much I enjoy bows and lace and while these are pretty prominent in this type of fashion, there’s also a way to make it Moto boho if you like. That’s what I really like about this new fashion trend, it can be dressed up or down to your particular style with certain elements or pieces. We’re sticking with layering here to create more dimension and texture to our looks this winter and spring. I already know I’m going to be loading my cart with some new fun pieces before I can even finish ski shopping!
Romantic Aesthetic
Finally, we love a romantic aesthetic and feel as though this trend is what fully embodies it. The trend is flattering on everyone and we think it’s going to fully be everywhere by the end of the spring. Moreover, I’m always looking for good date night looks and pieces to wear to fun events. I am really excited to bring a more romantic aesthetic to my wardrobe. Check ou the pieces below that we are putting together to bring this trend to life.
