There’s something about Palm Springs that always feels like a reset. Maybe it’s the golden desert light, the endless palm trees against the mountains, or the slower rhythm of the days. It’s been a while since I’ve back here, but still it’s definitely one of my fav places to visit in California! On a recent trip with my Visit California family, I spent a few days exploring the area with an itinerary that balanced creativity, adventure, wellness, and incredible food—while staying at the beautiful Hotel Paseo. If you’re planning a desert getaway, here’s exactly how we spent 48 hours in Palm Springs and Palm Desert.
A Creative Start
Our first stop was Superbloom Palm Springs, where we participated in their “Paint with Meaning” experience. The creative session explores how different colors represent emotions and personality traits, encouraging guests to express themselves through art. It was such a thoughtful and inspiring way to begin the trip. And I’m loving my new sneaks!

Dinner in Palm Springs
After the workshop, we headed to Clandestino, a hidden gem tucked behind Johnny Was. The restaurant focuses on the bold flavors of Jalisco, Mexico with vibrant Latin dishes and handcrafted cocktails served in a charming outdoor space.
Exploring the Desert
The next morning began at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens, a conservation-focused zoo and botanical garden where you can experience desert wildlife and learn about global conservation efforts.
In the afternoon we explored the desert landscape on a Jeep tour with Desert Adventures Red Jeep Tours, traveling through the dramatic terrain surrounding the San Andreas Fault. The views and geology of the area are incredible and make you appreciate how unique this desert environment truly is.

Back at the hotel, we ended the day with a floating sound bath experience with Good Vibes Sound Bath. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. This might have been my favorite experience on the entire trip!

Dinner that evening was at Porta Via, a California bistro known for seasonal dishes and an impressive wine list.
A Few Iconic Stops
I unfortunately had to leave for another travel commitment but the rest of the crew explored these places and I have to say I was super jealous and definitely coming back! The colorful Trixie Motel, created by Trixie Mattel, where every room is a playful pink-themed fantasy. Hello my dream!

Palm Springs is one of those destinations where you can mix creativity, nature, and relaxation all in one trip. From art experiences to Jeep tours and desert sunsets, it’s the kind of getaway that leaves you feeling both inspired and recharged.
