Can you even believe we are only weeks away from Christmas? My gift shopping is well on its way, so it’s only time that I pick my holiday looks out. There’s something about the holidays that screams glitz and glam to me, especially to wear for New Years, as well. It all begins with shoes for me! You can never have too many pairs of shoes, especially a really good pair of heels! A party shoe is my favorite kind and I tend to wear them not just with a holiday outfit, but throughout the colder months out to dress up my looks. Specifically, color, style, material and price are contributing factors to shopping for holiday shoes.
Here are our top 12 shoe finds for all of your festive events!
Firstly, the material of the shoe is major here. The texture is what adds to the look, so whether it be leather, suede or glossy, they are a sure way to sport a fun shoe for the holidays. Although, I recommend dressing for your area. For instance, if you are in a heavy snow climate, try waterproof shoes that can withstand the snow and ice. A good tip is to pack your party shoes and wear walking shoes or winter boots when you arrive. Make a quick shoe change, nobody will notice! This way, you won’t ruin your holiday heels or wear them the whole time if they’re not so comfortable, for that matter. Patent leather, suede, crystals and velvet are among some of the most popular materials to start with.
Moreover, the perfect pair of holiday shoes does exist, there are just a plethora of right options! There are a ton of styles that are on trend at the moment, such as a pair of boots like thigh-high ones, some of the best sandals to wear into the winter are platforms and casual shoes that can be dressed up. Kitten heels, Mary Janes, ballet flats and sparkly shoes are some of the best shoes for the holiday season. It’s always a good idea to grab a pair of statement heels that can be worn with neutral looks and be the center of attention. Those always work! For example, I pair a fun pair of ruffled socks or shiny transparent socks to wear with platform sandals to transition them into cooler months. I love the look it gives and you get use out of the shoes all four seasons!
Finally, a pop of color or tone with shine is essential for the perfect holiday shoe. For instance, a red shoe is the staple color for Christmas. It’s classic that stands the test of time. That and dark green, metallics and sparkles. Different colors for the holidays are always a more fun option as a pop to any outfit. If you love wearing brighter colors, go for the color. While if you’re more neutral, stick to what feels good for you. Although, it never hurts to step out of your comfort zone with accessories! Last year, I went neutral on the shoes and I think I’m gonna switch that up this season for a little fun!
