It’s time to get our beach bag ready for the summer season! We have a sandy beach in our near future and need not only an absorbent towel but one that will last at least a few months of use. We love a plush feel with vibrant colors and in our personal experience, the best beach towels are a bit of an investment. Not only do they hold up but the luxurious feel makes all the difference with weekly use. Summer days are nearing and we are sharing fun designs for packable towels for any beach or pool day you have planned.
Bright Patterns
Firstly, summer screams bright colors and vibrant patterns. A cool towel makes any beach day feel that much more fun. While there are tons of different patterns that make for a great option for your next towel, we have been loving the stripe trend. Of course, pin is on our mind so we pulled a few pink striped options but this is a pattern that never goes out of style. Furthermore, you can go for more neutral options if you have a bunch of kids and just want easy grab and go options without the fight of what is on the towel and who wants which one.
Fabric
Secondly, fabric can make or break the day! There’s nothing wrong with using a bath towel, they are really absorbent. But they do tend to be more difficult to get sand off of! We want a soft texture but a fabric option that will be easy to clean and won’t drag excess sand into your car or bag. The first wash always tells us how decent the fabric is!
There are so many options to choose from but we’ll divulge into our favorite fabric options. Microfiber towels are lightweight and easy to walk to the beach with. The microfiber fabric doesn’t typically feel super luxurious but wash it in cold water to keep it looking it’s best for the compact size. Extra-large towels in organic cotton are very soft and comfortable for lounging. It’s a popular option and one of the best towel fabrics. Finally, a flat weave will keep the sand from sticking to the loose threads so that might be something to keep in mind when shopping around!
Price Point
Finally, we understand these towels are used only a few weeks a year. It’s a good idea to compare pricing with what you are purchasing. For instance, if you are buying a polyester blend that won’t be that great for comfortable lounging for a long time. This might not last as long as something like Turkish towels. Those are cotton beach towels that hold up and feel great to lay on for long hot days. They come in tons of sizes like a giant bath sheet to make for a space for a few people to sit on and will stand the test of time. If you are only going to the beach or pool a couple times this summer, go for a reasonable price point since it will only be used a few times!
