Travel Diaries: Tulum Mexico

When Momtrends called to invite me to escape to Mexico for a three day influencer getaway at the Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa, I didn’t even check with Jason before saying ABSOLUTELY! Our winter, and even the start of our spring has been frigid, so some time in the sun was just what I needed for my soul.

Having experienced two other Dreams Resorts in Mexico, I knew our trip would be nothing short of spectacular! Perfectly situated in the history-rich town of Tulum in the Riviera Maya, Dreams Tulum is 90 minutes from Cancun airport. The resort sits on a secluded stretch of sugar-white sand beach and 44 acres of lush, blossoming gardens that grace this beautiful property and will leave you in awe.

In my opinion, all-inclusive service something I feel has come a long way. There’s something to be said for going on a vacation, and not going into your pocket once you step foot on the resort. This especially holds true when traveling with your kids. No paying for any drinks, food, or individual activities. In fact, my wallet remained in the safe the entire time, with the exception of tips and souvenirs for the kiddies.

Guests choose from six à la carte gourmet restaurants, a buffet venue, a grill and a café as well as 24-hour room service. During our abbreviated stay, we couldn’t experience all the restuarants, but I will tell you I could’ve eaten at the El Patio restaurant everyday, with its yummy Mexico Cuisine. For an extra special palette, you may choose private dining option to your all-inclusive package.

One night we had a private dinner on a balcony, overlooking the ocean. And the following evening there was a tequila tasting, which was a ton of fun. I’m normally not a tequila fan, but I found one that I could sip and enjoy! We even caught a show that was actually set up in one of the pools (think Cirque du Soliel), and it was spectacular!

I am always a huge fan of room service, espeically in the morning. Each day, I woke up early enough to FaceTime the kids, squeeze in some work, and have my morning coffee, before setting out to conquer a day of relaxation and fun.

My Deluxe Junior Suite with Garden View had a king size bed, spacious living room, and private terrace. Dreams Tulum has two pools on the property; one reserved for “Preferred Guests,” an optional additional package you can add upon booking your room, along with a private stretch beach, also a section reserved for preferred guests.

When I am on vacay and away from the kiddies, I am all about rest and relaxation. No trips off the resort, no excursions. Just pool, beach, repeat! Not everyone is as boring as I am, so Dreams offers plenty for their active guests. There are a ton of free water sports included like kayaking, catamaran sailing and snorkeling around the reefs. I knew I couldn’t stay in a lounge chair the entire time, so I paddle boarded one afternoon.

Having seen how family friendly they were, I would definitely take my entire family back. Dreams offers the cutest kids club and teen club! Kids ages 3 to 12 can have the time of their lives at the Explorer’s Club – all a part of their Unlimited-Luxury® privileges at Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa! Created especially for youngsters, the club is professionally supervised, and filled with adventures and activities that they will enjoy including a waterpark with six slides. All this offers parents plenty of kid free grown up time.

Overall, enjoying alone time with some of my favorite women was priceless. We had a ton of laughs, while soaking in the sun and all the Dreams Resorts and Spa had to offer! When came back home, the weather seemed a little warmer, so I think may have brought a little sunshine back to New York City!
