Reframing Her Look

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting SITC.

I know it seems like the kids just got out of school for summer break, but I do take time out of our fun summer schedules in preparation for back to school. I usually set up their doctor visits, make sure I am fully stocked with all back to school supplies, and for Siella, I need to make sure she is up to date with an eye exam and glasses. I like being prepared and getting things out of the way during the summer months, so that I can have a clear head while enjoying our free time and not a massive to-do list come August!

We found out about two years ago that Siella had astigmatism and needed eyeglasses to read. It’s such a huge difference to see her read with glasses than without, and I feel like I am on a constant auto pilot telling her to put her glasses on before she opens a book.  But the problem is, she thinks her frames were “baby” looking and has been asking for a new pair of eyeglasses for a while now. I figured now would be a perfect time for her to pick out a new pair, and just in time for second grade!

We headed to JCPenney Optical last week, and I let her choose her frames all by herself. Did you know that JCPenney is a one-stop shop for all your family’s eyewear needs? Whether you need an eye exam, sunglasses, contact lenses, or a great set of frames, they have you covered and at all low prices! This was our first time getting her eye glass prescription filled here, but I have to say I was super impressed with the selection including brands like Converse, Nicole by Nicole Miller, Liz Claiborne, Puma, and Skechers! To be honest, I loved JCPenney Optical’s entire wide selection of designer brands, so I was happy with whatever frame she decided on.

After about thirty minutes of browsing, Siella picked out a clear pink Skechers pair of eyeglasses, and I couldn’t have been more happy with her choice. Not only did they fit her face perfectly, they were also part of JCPenney Optical Back To School Glasses for Kids sale which include $39.99 for frames, impact-resistant lenses, and eyewear protection plan! She is super excited about her choice, and I’ve found that she’s been actively putting them on to read her summer books without me having to tell her! Because these are cool glasses now….according to her!

  1. Until reading this, I completely forgot JC Penny had an optical department! They have a nice selection at a good price. I’m glad you were able to get her a pair she likes.

  2. My firstborn wears glasses, and often changes style and needs a new look or often times a new prescription. I love that JCPenney offers this, I totally forgot about that!

  3. We had gone to JCP last year for my daughter’s glasses. I love how they have a lot of frames to choose from as well as deals.

  4. It’s so nice that JC Penney has this for the kids, the frames are really adorable and something that the kids will definitely like. It’s not easy to wear glasses that early so this really helps!
