vlog 9: It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

There is nothing quite like Christmas time in New York City. Store fronts and streets sparkle with lights and festive decor, and you can feel the electricity in the air. As the children have grown, we have implemented so many traditions December traditions, and I make it my mission not to miss a single one. Vlog 9 features only a quarter of our favorite things to do!

One of these family favorites is going to see the Rockettes in the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall. I thought the show may get redundant, but somehow, it seems to get better year after year. The nativity scene during the finale gets me every time. This year, I invited my mom to join the girls and I, and thanks to Lexus, we were invited on a private tour after the show. The girls chatted with the Rockettes, and saw the camel featured in the show, as we walked through backstage.

Ice skating has become another holiday favorite activity, and with plenty of rinks around the city, there is usually a bunch of ice time. With tons of trees and beautiful buildings as a backdrop, the Central Park Rink has become our favorite in the city.

There are no shortage of special events and attractions this time of year, and one of the coolest was the Hallmark sponsored little pop-up in the meatpacking district, called Museum of Christmas. The kids and I played in a snow ball pit, hung from candy candy tire swings, and strolled around in the holiday light room. I wish it was open longer, but maybe next year they will be back.

And one of the highlights of the holiday season is visiting the window displays uptown. Saks is probably my most favorite, and this year’s theme is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. To kick off the season, Saks held a special viewing party, open to the public and hosted by Sophia Carson. The light show was pretty awesome and you can catch it too sans the fireworks.
