“Tuck In & Turn Off” With Downy {& GIVEAWAY}

This post was sponsored by the Mom It Forward Blogger Network

With Jason being away for so long, the two biggest challenges I often face are getting the kids to sleep and doing the never ending laundry. I found that the jump from two to three kids made the amount of laundry that much more. A total game changer. Our laundry can be quite time consuming, but the kids and I always manage to have fun little adventures in the laundry room. Like this one, where we take the carts on “roller coaster” rides. And this blue little car has made it’s way to each kid, Gem is currently loving it at the moment.

giveaway, sweet dreams collection

We have bed time routines with the kids and try to stick with them almost every night, especially during the week. This is probably the only time of day where I actually turn off everything completely, and leave whatever unfinished business I have till after they go to sleep. Our routine starts with bath, followed by books, teeth brushing, songs, and finally sleep. I do tend to have to tuck them in more than once every night because they love to play games and keep coming out of their beds. But my children really need their sleep, so I try to do everything I can to ensure a good nights sleep. Little things I have noticed that effect their sleep: if they nap too long, temperature in the room, and if the blinds are not closed properly to allow the morning light in.

downy sweet dreams collection

I was just introduced to the new Sweet Dreams Collection by Downy which includes Tide Detergent, Downy Infusions Fabric Softner, Bounce Dryer Sheets, and Downy UN-Stoppables Scent Booster. The scent is absolutely fantastic! Downy is challenging the nation to “Tuck In and Turn Off”. I am pledging to unplug earlier with all of my might, and sleep eight blissful hours each night, to unwind for 30 minutes ‘fore I lay down my head, with no texting, tweeting, or browsing in bed. Downy believes that good sleep habits happen first in the laundry room. Caring for your bed linens can make a big difference with getting a good night’s sleep.There is nothing like a fresh set of sheets with hints of lavender to do just the trick. In fact, when I hired a sleep consultant, she recommended putting something lavender in the kids room to help them sleep. I found a little lavender sachets which makes their room smell so zen like, I wish I could nap in there. The new Sweet Dreams Collection by P&G has just the perfect amount of lavender scent.

  1. Cannot wait to test this out! I love lavender! Our routines is pretty similar to yours except I let them watch their ipads a little.

  2. We turn off TV, put on music. Then tubby time, little snacks , brush teeth, potty, & get tucked in. Time to read for about twenty minutes.

  3. Both in bed, book, scratch back and kisses for Little and then off to Big for a scratch and kisses. Big gets to watch TV while I am with Little.

  4. After bath, my daughter gets a massage as we lotion her up, we brush her hair, and then we have story time. Then we brush her teeth, say “nite nite” to the house (we turn everything off), we say prayers, give hugs and kisses, and tuck her in for the night. This all gets done w/in 45 mins and our daughter’s in bed by 8pm.

  5. After brushing their teeth and getting their jammies on, the girls go into their room to get ready for a story. Usually one or two books, then we listen to music. It’s a giant dance party, the girls spin, shake, and giggle the whole time. After two songs, we put on the “blast off” song (currently track 1 of the Tangled soundtrack). When that song is done, daddy blasts the girls off to the stars on the ceiling and back to bed. We tuck them in, say “goodnight,” then blow out the lights….1, 2, 3, phoooooo….they are left with glowing stars as they drift off.
