The Birthday Dress

As you know, Gemma just turned three last week, and somehow, I still can’t wrap my head around it. Regardless of where we have our children’s birthday parties especially, I always make sure to purchase the girls a new beautiful dress. A special dress, one they will always associate with their special day when they see it hanging in their closet. I remember my mom doing the same for my sister and I, when we were younger.

About a month ago, I introduced you to my newest shopping source, Childrensalon. I’ve been totally crushing on the styles and designs they offer, so I stocked up on some things for spring time, if that warm weather ever makes its way to New York.

Childrensalon carries some of my favorite designers, like Billieblush, Mini Rodini, Stella McCartney Kids, and Miss Grant. As an online stop with over 270 designers, I love how they create mini look books for different occasions, showcasing a rotation of their brands. This feature really helps you see the items in situation, because sometimes just clicking on one of the many dresses alone can be overwhelming. While browsing one of their carefully curated shops, in this case new dresses for spring, I came across this darling piece from Sonia Rykiel Paris.

This dusky pink sleeveless dress, made from a silky polyester satin with a taffeta feel, was an absolute show stopper. It has ruffles at the side of the bodice and a gathered skirt, forming the full shape of the dress. It fastens with covered buttons at the back, and it’s unlined making it lightweight.

Her birthday party and dress were a huge success, and I know this next year will be a special one. Happy birthday Gemma!
