Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting SITC.

Last week, while the kids were off from school for two days, we decided to make the most of our long weekend with a trip to Disney World. My parents were already traveling to Florida to visit relatives, so I thought it would be the perfect time for them to experience Disney with us. It amazes me that even with as many times as we’ve been down there, each and every trip offers a new and unique experience.

While researching and asking for advice on what we must do during our September stint, an unanimous response in one of my social media threads indicated that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom was a must see. While packing for our trip, I included a few costumes for the kids, since there is nothing better than dressing up for Halloween and at Disney no less. The Magic Kingdom was transformed into a fall festival, donning Halloween statues and decorations in every direction. I love celebrating each and every holiday to the fullest, even more so now that I have children, and based on this trip, I can attest that Disney enjoys these same celebrations.

For the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, guests are allowed to enter the park starting at 4pm. You receive a special bracelet upon arrival which allows staffers to know that the special ticket holders are permitted to stay past the park’s 7pm closing time. It was incredible to see just how much the park empties out when the evening rolls around. It feels as if you have the entire place to yourself. Wait times on all the rides decrease dramatically, making each ride experience feel like you have an instant fast pass! It was pretty neat, and by far a huge perk!

This year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a Headless Horseman begins the Boo-To-You Parade. A collection of frightening floats featuring the Villain Disney Characters in Halloween costumes comes down Main Street. We’ve never seen anything like it!

There are characters sprinkled throughout the park and dressed up in their Halloween costumes too!

Halloween is never complete without trick-or-treating, and Disney made sure of that! Each area you entered were set up with trick or treat stations, allowing guests to fill their bag with treats, snacks and more—including plenty of allergy-free options. Ryder, Siella, and Gemma naturally hit up every station, leaving us with enough candy to last us through Thanksgiving, but I made sure they left some behind, before heading home for the evening. The Happy HalloWishes Fireworks show may have been the best one I’ve ever seen! Spooky music, lights, and ghosts lit up the sky, leaving the attendees in awe of the spectacle. In fact at one point, Gemma turned around and told me I was the best mom ever for bringing her there. Truly this was something to remember.

Sure it was all about Halloween, but the girls wanted to see their favorite Princesses Tiana and Rapunzel.  Gemma having a conversation with Tiana might have been the funniest part of the entire trip. Tiana told her to remember not to kiss a frog and Gemma nearly fell on the floor with the jokes. It was truly the best!

My mom and I couldn’t get over the festive transformation of the Magic Kingdom, and Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween party proved to be definitely the highlight of our trip. If you are traveling to Disney between late August and November, you have to check it out. Ticket prices range from $74-99 each. In my opinion, it’s totally worth it, especially if you planning on hitting up all the rides! We ended up having so much fun, that we didn’t leave the park until 11:30pm, which was by far one the latest parties the kids had ever attended!

It looks like you all had a wonderful time. We use to go every year when our son was little. It is crazy how much candy you leave with.

  2. How nice it was for you to take your kids to the Not So Scary Halloween party. I would have a grand time myself if I was there. Sure looks like you all had a great time! Thanks for sharing your photos.

  3. What an amazing adventure! I remember visiting Disney with my grandma when I was little, and have taken both my mom and my mother in law along with us a time or two as well. There are always so many special memories to be made. The Halloween season is also my absolute favorite time to go!

  4. This looks like so much fun! What a great way to celebrate Halloween without all the scary stuff. We have so many houses we have to dodge when we trick or treat. I would also love to have my son tell me I was the best mom ever!
