Mexico In December Part II

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting SITC.

If you’ve been following along, last week I shared some of our experiences, during a recent trip to Mexico. We had such a great time on the Riviera Maya, I wanted to share more. One of our favorite days of the trip was the afternoon spent at the sea water pool, and the kiddie water park.

The Grand Palladium Maya Riviera seawater pool is located on a secluded hill top of the resort. It is so remote, that at first glance, we actually thought it was part of another property. We stumbled upon it accidentally as Ryder and Siella searched for sand crabs and sea creatures along the rocks.

The salt water pool is situated with its outside wall against open water, leaving the sea water free to flow in and out of the pool. Its orientation allows sand and small fish to populate the pool, leaving us feeling as if we were walking around a life sized fish tank. The pool was shallow enough to teach the kids how to snorkel, which is exactly what Ryder and Siella did, after our little explorers were finished excavating the rocks and shoreline for seashells.

I have to say, this part of the resort was our absolute favorite. It felt so secluded, with breathtaking views of the open water. We ended up spending the majority of the day there, and with a pool side bar and waiter service, it made it extra relaxing for us “big kids.”

Gemma loved watching the fish swim past her feet.

Siella ordered her own drinks at the bar. The bartender even made her a special punch drink, that he named after her.

For a change of pace, we went to the kiddie pool, which had something to keep all three kids busy regardless of their age differences. With many slides, overflowing water bucket tank, and waterfall wall, the kids had an absolute blast! At some point on each day at the resort, we hit this kiddie pool. The shallow water was ideal for Gemma, allowing Jason and I to watch along from a lounge chair, rather than in the pool, by her side.

When asking the kids what they enjoyed most about their stay, they bounce back and forth between the sea and kiddie pools! Needless to say, Jason and I were partial to the seawater pool.

It looks like a great family outing. That sea water pool looks so neat and the water park would be a lot of fun.

It looks like this resort is worth visiting for the saltwater pool alone. I have never seen one of those at another property.

That place looks so serene. It’s perfect for a getaway! This is one side of Mexico I would want to go to!

  4. Now isn’t this an awesome and relaxing vacation! There’s nothing like hitting the beach during December! There are less people and more fun! I’m glad you had a great time as a family.
