Hershey Park with General Motors

Two weeks ago, me and 10 other bloggers received a trip to Hershey Park, courtesy of Momtrends and General Motors. GM and Chevorlet supplied us all with cars and trucks to make the trip down to Hershey Pennsylvania with our families for a two night stay at the Hilton Garden Inn. On the Wednesday prior, I was greeted with a GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid- it was love at first sight. Luckily, I am accustomed to driving a truck, but little did I know exactly how much cargo that this particular truck could be loaded up with! By Friday morning the car was all packed, carseats installed, and off we went in our Denali! My mother came along for the weekend because Jason was out of town, once again.

Yes, I am not a light packer!

While driving to Hershey, we enjoyed listening to XM radio and the kids watched their DVDs on the flat screen in the backseat. It was a super smooth three and half hour ride, and luckily our navigation didn’t take us out of the way one bit (my truck always gets us lost!).  And to my surprise, I still had over a half tank of gas…wow Hybrids need to become mandatory, especially in trucks!

The following day, we met up with the GM team for a breakfast meeting. The group was polled to see if anyone owned a GM, and those who raised their hands were given Thank You notes for being an owner. We also had the chance to speak to Chevy’s aerodynamic engineer, Suzanne Cody. Suzanne, a mother of two, works for Chevy in Detroit. She and the Malibu Moms are responsible for engineering today’s family vehicles by using their expertise and experience to create cars that are  fuel-efficient, safe, extremely quiet, while offering great family functionality. After our meeting, we headed over to Hershey Park where GM hosted Family Appreciation Day, offering us the opportunity to test drive all of the new 2013 cars. I chose the Corvette which was super cool and awesome to drive!

Afterwards, we headed into the Park for a day full of fun!!! Another cute part of the excursion was a visit to Chocolate World where we made our very own Chocolate bars and learned the steps that go into making the infamous chocolate that we all grew up with. Ryder loved it!

It was a wonderful family getaway and I can not thank General Motors and Momtrends enough! Our next family car will 100% be a Chevy!

SITC was not compensated for this post however did receive a Yukon Denali Hybrid for a few days, passes to Hershey Park, and accomodations at the Hilton Garden Inn.
