Gearing For The Cold

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting SITC.

For Thanksgiving, we are headed up to Canada for our first ski trip of the season. The kids have really taken to skiing, especially Ryder, so each year we try to log as many days possible on the slopes. Considering how mild the weather has been, its strange to be talking about skiing, but heading north of the border, I expect we will need to brace for the cold.

Winter Boots For The Whole Family

Packing for a ski trip is much tougher than packing for a beach vacay. Currently, our apartment is turned upside down with puffy jackets, ski pants, tons of hats, gloves, scarves, thermals, and so much more. To keep our tootsies warm this year, our entire family will be rocking Kamik Boots! I discovered them last year, and fell in love with the comfort, warmth, and fit. Ski vacations aside, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from living in the city it’s that the proper footwear is key. When it rains, you need something waterproof, and when it’s cold or snows, warm boots are everything since we walk everywhere.

The Kamik brand has been around for over 100 years. With Canadian roots, they know cold weather conditions, with access to every terrain in their very own backyard. Their motto – there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad footwear. As a mom, I can tell you that if your children are not warm and comfortable in their snow gear, it leads to cranky kids, and then no one is happy. All Kamik footwear are designed with the latest technology of materials, colors, textures, and all are stylish.

I love the tall boot look, and the side zip make them easy on and off, which is super handy when running out the door to shuttle the kids to and from school.

Siella and Gemma have on the Takoda, in brown with contrasting purple stitching. Designed for life in the city, these versatile winter boots are great for running through slush or just hanging with friends in the schoolyard.

Ryder chose Kamik’s Takoda in black. Some winter boots are function only, but these are so fashionable that they can be worn out dinner or on the slopes. Jason loved our styles so much that he ended up ordering a pair for himself for our trip!

We are so looking forward to hitting slopes, hot cocoa, warm snuggles by the fireplace, and of course noshing on some poutine!

  1. Oh, I miss fun winter attire. When we lived in Canada, winter clothes are one of my favorite parts of the season. Now that we live in Arizona, there’s not much call for heavy winter gear.

  2. I have not been skiing since I was in high school. I always thought it was a lot of fun. I should really take my kiddo and see how he likes it. Those boots would be the perfect shoe for going up into the cold, cold north.

  3. I bought a pair of Kamik’s last year for my son off of Zulily and I loved them so much I am buying a pair for everyone in the family this year. When you live in cold weather climates, IMO you need a good boot!

  4. These jackets and boots are so cute. They will be perfect to keep you warm on your ski trip. I hope your have a great time.

  5. The Kamik boots look great and they’re going to be amazing for the cold and wet days! These were definitely good choices!
