Family Travel: Hard Rock Punta Cana {Part 2}

After six days of staying at the Paradisus Punta Cana, we headed over to the newest hotel edition to the Dominican Republic and largest casino, the All Inclusive Hard Rock Hotel. We were greeted with such a wonderful and friendly staff upon arrival. We then checked-in, and there are several different check-in areas throughout the lobby some for frequent guests, vips, and celebrities.

Since we arrived in the morning, we were able to catch the “character breakfast” located in the hotel’s The Little Big Club. The kids were able to play and meet characters like Barney, Angelina Ballerina, and Bob The Builder. The Little Big Club is also a babysitting service where you can leave your kids to play during the day or evening. They can even take your kids to the pool area!

After brekkie, it was off to the beach and pool area. The hotel is pretty massive but they have train-cars that you can hop on to take you throughout the hotel. Just remember to bring a folding type stroller because you will not be able to fit a full size one on the train-cars. There were so many pools throughout the hotel, 14 to be exact! We were so overwhelmed by which pool to choose from, but decided on going to the kids section. There are four kiddie pools, some having slides and water fountains. The kids were in their glory, especially Siella since you was able to go without her swimmies in those pools. There is also a lazy river you can float around in tubes that goes around one the restaurants. There is full waitstaff available at all of the pools, and some pools include swim up bars.

The beach area was beautiful. The water actually seemed clearer to us on that side of the island as opposed to the Paradisus. We didn’t venture onto the beach because they are working on it at the moment putting big rocks to break the rip tides they experience to make it safe for guests visiting. The beach is totallay functional and there were plenty of guests there, but our kids preferred the pool area.

After a very long day at the many pools, we headed to our “Family Suite” to get ready for dinner. Our room was simply exquisite and something a family very much needs when traveling! We had a two bedroom suite with two bathrooms, huge balcony, kitchen, and massive hot tub! The kids were greeted with mini sized robes on their beds, along with sand toys. Again, the kids were stoked!

After showers and a “jacuzzi bath”, as my kids would say, we headed to the main lobby for dinner. The Hard Rock Hotel features 11 different restaurants. You can chose from almost any type of food from asian inspired, italian, mexican, brazilian, steak house, buffets and much more. They even have an ice cream and coffee shop! All of the restaurants do not take reservation so it is a first come, first serve basis. I would suggest, especially if you are traveling with kids to arrive on the earlier side. Two of the restaurants we wanted to try out were a 45 minute wait. But, overall the food was excellent, much better than the hotel we stayed at prior! We didn’t have the time, but for nights when you want to leave the kids with the babysitter, there is the Simon Mansion restaurant located in the hotels Casino. This is not included in the “all inclusive package”, but it is absolutely gorgeous inside with all white decor!

Overall, there is always something to do at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. We only stayed for one night but the kids didn’t want to leave. Jason and I said we should’ve spent more time there because there was just so much more to do! Some of the other amenities the hotel features are: horse back riding, mini golf, kids arcade room, bike riding, shows, and much more!

Thank you Hard Rock for such an amazing stay!

  3. Thank you so much for sharing, this helped a lot!!! We are trying to decide between Melia and Hard Rock and you blog makes me go towards HR but I just have one question which is the main reason we are considering Melia, do HR have babysitting for under 1? Our baby is 10months and we would like to get babysitting some afternoons and at least 1 night, was that an option for little ones? most of the resorts only take 18months and up, we don’t mind paying extra but I don’t want to book the room with out knowing for sure we be able to take a break to go to the spa and etc, any info is very appreciated!!!

  4. Somebody necessarily help to make severely posts I would state. That is the very first time I frequented your website page and up to now? I surprised with the analysis you made to make this particular publish amazing. Magnificent activity!

  5. I’ve been browsing online greater than three hours lately, but I never discovered any interesting article like yours.
    It’s pretty price sufficient for me. In my view, if
    all site owners and bloggers made excellent content material as
    you did, the internet will probably be a lot more helpful than ever before.
