I know, I sound like a broken record, because posts keep saying how the pressure of the rapidly paced summer has gotten to me, but its only because I remember how much I looked forward to summer as a kid, and I want this carefree time of year to be etched in my kids memories as they grow. Each year, I strive to make each summer better than the last, so they are plenty satisfied before starting the new school year.
This week, I probably received five text messages from friends, wondering which backpacks and lunch boxes to buy, as well as our after school activity schedule for back to school. I guess I’m not the only one getting anxious about getting prepared. I love that my friends turn to me as a resource, and absolutely adore finding new products that work for all of our little ones. But guess what, my kids will be toting aroud the same back packs they’ve been using, from Apple Park.
When I find a brand that I like, my creature of habit draws me back to the same brand. The name “Apple Park” represents the ideals that defines their brand. The word “apple” signifies a new beginning, the life cycle, nature, love, curiosity and education. “Park” refers to a place where man has collaborated with nature for the purpose of preservation and enjoyment. Pretty cool how much consideration was made when developing that name. I love that Apple Park’s mission is to create unique, lovable and stimulating toys from organic, sustainable and recycled materials.
Their backpacks have become my childrens’ favorite packs for travel, and I figure if they work while on the road, why not continue using the same bags for school. Also it’s pretty cute watching Ryder with his Blue Raccoon, Siella with a Purple Owl, and Gemma with a Pink Bunny, walking side by side. The backpacks come in two sizes, one for big kids like Ryder and Siella, and a smaller version without a front pocket, for Gemma’s age.
These eco-friendly backpacks are sturdy, and made with water-resistant fabric, which feels like cotton, but surprisingly, they are actually made from recycled plastic bottles rescued from our landfills! The zipper top and outside zipper pocket make packing their animal pals simple and the padded shoulder straps keeps them comfy. And a huge bonus- they are dishwasher and machine washable. This has come in super handy, considering their packs have been to Disney, Jamaica, and summer camp, so they can now do their back to school run, and still look brand new!
To pair with the backpacks, I bought Apple Parks’ lunch packs, and let the kids decide which little pal they wanted. Ryder stuck with the same Blue Raccoon, Siella chose the White Owl for her Purple Owl backpack, and Gemma chose the Orange Monkey, which totally suits her personality. These lunchpacks are made with the same fabric as their backpacks, so I trust they will hold up even after being thrown around during countless recess and lunchtimes. For their snack time, I will continue using Apple Parks Snackpacks, for snacks, or maybe we can convert them into school supply holders.
Mentally, I may not be ready for my babies to go back to school, but when the time comes, at least I know they will have all the supplies needed, and some piece of mind that what they’re using to carry around their belongings was made with the best intentions for our environment.

So much cuteness!!
OMG these are too cute. I used to love picking out my back to school backpacks.
Alas, my child has outgrown anything “cute” but I personally would love these for myself!
Backpacks have sure come along way since we were kids. I love all these adorable designs!
Those backpacks are just adorable!!
I’m doing the same as every year but it keeps costing more and more all the time. Thanks for doing this!
