Another Sweet Year!

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting SITC.

I was asked to participate in the #HDMoment campaign, sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.

It’s the last week of school and as much as I am looking forward to summer break, I have to say, it is all bittersweet. Everyone is super excited for school to let out, and I expect that these last few days will feel like an eternity. Ryder, Siella, and Gemma have grown leaps and bounds and in a few short months, they will enter 4th grade, 1st grade, and pre-kindergarten. I am proud, yet sad that another year has flown by. They will certainly miss all of their wonderful teachers, but let’s bring on that schedule free summer.

To celebrate the end of another successful year, I set up a little ice cream playdate with some friends. I figured we could create an ice cream bar, where each could make their own sundaes with their favorite toppings. After all, ice cream is definitely the ultimate reward and it was just another chance for the kiddies to be together before dispersing to camps and vacation over the summer months.

This weekend, the kids and I headed out to our local Walgreens, for some supplies. Siella made the list: ice cream, cones, cups, sprinkles, whipped cream, fruit, and chocolate chips. I have my favorite flavors, but I left this decision up to the kids. They chose three different Häagen-Dazs® flavors- Vanilla, Strawberry, and Dulce de Leche. Häagen-Dazs is our family’s favorite ice cream, and as a healthy conscious mama I appreciate the fact that they contain no artificial flavors or colors, and use rBST-Free milk. Flavors like vanilla and strawberry contain just five ingredients each, which is a welcome change from some treats which are made up of things that you can’t even pronounce.

Our playdate isn’t set until the middle of the week, but the kids were already itching for a sweet treat, so I decided to do a pre ice cream party for them. It was on the heels of Siella’s birthday Friday, so the celebration just kept going. They each made a cone with all of the fixings and it was the perfect treat to end our weekend!

So looking forward to the “real” ice cream party later this week! And with Häagen-Daz conveniently available at Duane Reade and Walgreens, be on the lookout for their BOGO deals July 2nd – 8th (just in time for 4th of July) and July 23rd – 29th!

  1. Your sweet celebration looks like fun! I grew up eating Haagen-Dazs with my parents, so their ice cream always brings back so many awesome memories for me.

  2. I love Hagen-Daz! It would be fun to have an ice cream party with it, but if I get good ice cream, I don’t want to share.

  3. I love ice cream and an end of the year ice cream party sounds like the best way to celebrate. I will celebrate virtually with a big bowl of my favorite flavor.

  4. I think it’s awesome that you had an ice cream party! The kids always look forward to ice cream. Häagen-Dazs is a great brand too, it’s one of our favorites too! Good to know that it doesn’t contain ingredients that we’re unfamiliar with.
